Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert for specific technologies, products, or services
Analyze technical needs and requirements, offering strategic and tactical advice
Responsible for project management and delivery of IT consulting services
Coordinates the activities between users and communication networks
Coordinate the development, testing, and implementation of new solutions
Works with user groups to identify, develop, acquire, and implement methodologies for the installation of new information systems or integration of existing systems
Create and maintain technical documentation such as solution design documents, implementation guides, and training material
Participate in risk assessment and help develop mitigation strategies for complex technical challenges
Mentor junior staff on system usage or new technologies
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in computer science, math, or other directly related quantitative degree
Five (5) years related development and programming experience
Experience in the technical design and development of major data processing projects
Strong knowledge of software engineering principles
Skilled in one or more programming languages used by FedEx Freight
Knowledge and experience with distributed systems, client/server technology, object oriented (OO) development, and/or case tools
Proven experience in a technical advisory, consulting, or specialist role
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to translate technical details into business-friendly language
Some travel required
