GNC Engineer
EVONA is a private aerospace and autonomy-focused engineering team expanding its Guidance, Navigation, and Control capability for autonomous flight systems. The GNC Engineer will develop and deploy flight software, focusing on algorithm implementation, software integration, and verification for safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities
Developing and integrating GNC-related flight software for autonomous operation
Implementing estimators, controllers, and state machines in real-time environments
Designing and implementing fault detection, isolation, and recovery logic for safety-critical systems
Building and maintaining interfaces between GNC software and broader flight software stacks
Designing and executing Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing
Writing unit tests and regression tests to ensure performance and reliability
Collaborating with simulation, embedded software, hardware, and systems engineers to support end-to-end validation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or similar
Experience deploying estimators and/or controllers on autonomous or flight systems
Solid understanding of flight software development for GNC applications
Experience with state machines and fault-management logic in safety-critical systems
Comfortable working in Linux-based development environments using Git
Strong attention to testing, validation, and system reliability
Able to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams
Due to U.S. regulatory requirements, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other eligible individual under applicable export control regulations
Preferred
Master's or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline
Experience with Python, C++, and MATLAB
Exposure to SIL and HIL test environments
Familiarity with model-based development and autocoding workflows
Experience supporting mission-critical or safety-critical software systems
