Responsibilities
General attorney support
Preparing/drafting correspondence, pleadings and discovery
Maintaining attorneys’ calendar
Manage trial deadlines, prepare pre-trial binders/preparations
Scheduling, coordinating and confirming hearings; depositions; mediation; EUO’s; ‘prep’ with attorneys’, meetings, etc
E-Filing with State courts
Familiar with Civil Rules of Procedure in Florida and general understanding of how the case will flow in Litigation
Knowledge of how a pre-suit matter works in Florida for Personal Injury, along with throughout the course of Litigation
Issuing and following up on subpoenas (when applicable)
Ensure documents are saved and filed into the appropriate document management system
Qualification
Required
Must Have Significant Law Firm Experience
Paralegal: 3 years in Florida (Required)
Florida Personal Injury Paralegal: 2 years (Required)
Punctuality, detail orientation with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to take initiative in handling projects, anticipating what needs to be done, ability to understand, follow specific instructions in oral and written form
Knowledge of state court rules and e-filing procedures, or ability to review same for further reference
Excellent typing skills; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; PDF applications (Adobe) and document/case management
Secretarial/Clerical skill set
Highly organized, self-motivating and self-starter
Preferred
Microsoft Office: 3 years (Preferred)
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
