Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement Coordinator (DOH/FBMC #13928)
New Mexico Department of Health is seeking a Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement Coordinator to direct, plan, and organize the quality management and performance improvement program. This role involves evaluating organizational performance, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting in the development of quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Direct, plan, and organize the staff and activities of the quality management/performance improvement program to achieve approved clinical goals and strategic operating plans and objectives
Evaluate performance in the organization and develop and implement measures to improve it
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies in accordance with internal and external requirements/regulations
Advise and assist performance improvement (PI) colleagues and onsite teams with data collection, reporting, interpretation, and analysis for their PI projects
Function as a facilitator, consultant, and/or project manager, as required
Assist with the overall development and implementation of the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program; assist in the identification of goals and related patient outcomes; participate as a member of the QAPI Committee; assist in the development of the quarterly QAPI Reports and Annual QAPI Summary Report
Provide reports/recommendations to facility leadership regarding the progress of development, implementation, and establishment of measurable patient outcomes, agency's efficiency of services and quality of care
Keep abreast of economic conditions/situations and recommend adjustments to the Administrator to ensure the continued ability to provide quality care
Assist other committees and departments in the development of monitoring tools, criteria, standards, assessment methodologies and the evaluation and selection of priority concerns impacting resident care and safety
Assist the Staff Development Coordinator in identifying areas in which training is needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university
Four (4) years of professional-level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment
Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience
A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience
Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements
Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico
Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPPA) training
The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
The ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
The ability to function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing
Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background check and is conditional pending results
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
