Gas Engineering Rotational Development Program (ERDP) - 2026

PG&E Corporation is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to customers through its Gas Operations and Gas Engineering organizations. The Gas Engineering Rotational Development Program is an 18-month rotation program that provides engineers the opportunity to gain meaningful engineering experience in various departments related to gas transmission and distribution operations.

Responsibilities

With six months in each rotation, participants will have time to learn about the rotational department and contribute to the department's success
Engineers can expect to work in various locations across PG&E’s service territory
Participants may rotate into two or three areas to include but not limited to the listed below:
Gas System Operations
Gas Transmission and Distribution Construction
Gas Distribution Operations
Gas Portfolio Management and Planning
Gas Regulatory and Risk
Gas Strategy Execution and System Planning
Gas Distribution Integrity Management
Gas Corrosion Engineering
Gas Facility and Storage Engineering
Gas Transmission Engineering and Design
Gas Pipeline Engineering and Services
Gas Transmission Integrity Management
Gas Distribution Engineering and Design
Gas Design and Operations Engineering
Gas System Operations and Maintenance
Gas Asset Strategy
Gas Project Management and Engineering
Gas Distribution Portfolio and Design

Qualification

Required

Qualified candidates will graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical or equivalent engineering degree issued from May 2024 – June 2026
Must have a valid driver's license or obtain one prior to start date

Preferred

Former PG&E Intern
EIT/FE certification
Completed coursework in: Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, and other high-pressure pipeline related courses
3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
Work experience or internships in utilities, municipalities, construction, or other pipeline related fields
Strong communications, initiative, and teamwork
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
