Assistant Controller

HD MANAGEMENT is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead their accounting team and oversee financial operations. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing internal controls, and providing analysis to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, including overseeing the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting functions
Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide meaningful insights to senior leadership
Lead any audit process to ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial schedules and documentation
Assess and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations
Prepare financial analyses, presentations, and reports for senior leadership
Participate in strategic planning initiatives, offering financial insights to support growth and expansion efforts
Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to accounting team members, fostering professional development and a collaborative work environment
Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and provide proactive recommendations

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Proven experience as a manager of 5 or more subordinates in a similar leadership role
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
Experience with ERP systems (Yardi and/or NetSuite) or other financial software
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage an accounting team
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively
