Responsibilities
Lead supplier qualification activities, including audits, assessments, and development plans to ensure compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 13485, and FDA regulations
Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality management systems aligned with IATF 16949:2016, ISO 9001, and other relevant standards
Conduct root cause analysis using tools like Minitab to identify issues related to supplier quality and process deficiencies; develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Oversee APQP processes including PPAP submissions to validate supplier parts before production release
Collaborate with suppliers on process engineering, sourcing strategies, and lean manufacturing initiatives to improve quality and efficiency
Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to interpret drawings and specifications for quality assessment
Monitor supplier performance metrics; manage supplier development programs to enhance quality levels
Support manufacturing teams by providing expertise in quality control, assurance, and systems integration during new product launches or process changes
Maintain compliance with CGMP standards where applicable; ensure adherence to FDA regulations for relevant products
Use data analysis tools such as Minitab and AS400 for reporting, trending, and decision-making related to supplier quality issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering or a related field
Proven experience in the automotive industry or manufacturing environment with a focus on supplier quality management
Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards including IATF 16949:2016, ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, FDA regulations, CGMP practices
Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP processes, root cause analysis techniques, and quality tools such as GD&T
Proficiency in statistical analysis software like Minitab
Excellent understanding of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain management
Mechanical knowledge combined with process engineering expertise to support assembly and sourcing activities
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across cross-functional teams including suppliers, manufacturing, engineering, and management
