Senior Environmental Test Engineer
EVONA is seeking a Senior Environmental Testing Engineer to lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of environmental test campaigns for their advanced aerospace platform. This role is essential for validating system performance, reliability, and safety across demanding operational environments.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, planning, and execution of environmental test campaigns, including thermal, altitude, vibration, humidity, and related testing
Translate system and subsystem requirements into clear test objectives, margins, procedures, and acceptance criteria
Own environmental test planning from concept through execution, analysis, and final reporting
Coordinate and lead test readiness reviews (TRRs) and support test execution activities
Provide technical leadership to cross-functional engineering teams (systems, structures, avionics, operations)
Own and maintain environmental test infrastructure, including equipment specification, procurement, and vendor coordination
Analyze test data, document results, and present findings and recommendations to engineering leadership
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810 or similar)
Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities within test programs and infrastructure
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering, or related technical field
5+ years of experience in environmental testing, including 3+ years leading test campaign development and execution for aerospace or complex systems
Demonstrated experience designing and executing environmental test programs
Strong understanding of environmental test standards and best practices
Proven ability to lead technically complex efforts across multidisciplinary teams
Experience owning test equipment, facilities, or infrastructure
Strong analytical, documentation, and technical communication skills
Preferred
Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Experience with high-altitude or stratospheric testing environments
Background in lighter-than-air systems, unmanned systems, or novel aerospace platforms
Familiarity with FAA or other regulatory certification testing requirements
Experience working in startup or scale-up aerospace environments
Experience with test automation, data acquisition systems, and advanced instrumentation
