Responsibilities
Leading project initiation and early development, including defining scope, commissioning surveys and specialist inputs, and addressing statutory and compliance requirements
Preparing project briefs, programmes, cost plans and options appraisals, and supporting the development of business cases
Coordinating internal stakeholders and user groups to ensure projects are practical, buildable and aligned with operational needs
Managing external consultants and contractors, and overseeing project delivery to time, cost and quality
Proactively identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies, taking timely action to mitigate impacts
Managing early-stage project governance, approvals and reporting, and ensuring effective handover to end users and operational teams
Qualification
Required
You have a background in construction, building or a related discipline, supported by relevant professional and project management qualification
You have demonstrable practical experience of managing construction projects from early planning through to completion, delivering to time, cost and quality
You have a good working knowledge of construction legislation and best practice, including CDM 2015, planning and building regulations, and are confident applying these on live projects
You're comfortable managing contractors and consultants in busy, operational environments, with a strong focus on safety, quality and collaboration
You enjoy working on varied projects across a complex estate, with an interest in historic, listed or older buildings alongside modern facilities
