Program Director
Bronx Lacrosse is a youth development organization focused on improving educational outcomes for underserved students in the South Bronx through lacrosse. The Program Director will lead programming that integrates athletics, academics, and mentorship, while serving as a trusted mentor for students and families.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with organization leadership, lead day to day delivery of Bronx Lacrosse programming at an assigned partner site, integrating athletics, academics, mentorship, and social emotional learning
Plan and execute year round programming, including after school hours, evenings, and select weekends
Run engaging, high quality lacrosse practices and coach teams in games, tournaments, and enrichment events
Coordinate site based tutoring services, including tutor scheduling, daily logistics, and instructional consistency
Support student academic progress through tutoring, exam and Regents preparation, and academic goal setting
Provide individualized high school application support for 8th grade students and college readiness and application support for high school students, including key deadlines and milestones
Build strong relationships with students and serve as a consistent mentor, setting high expectations and supporting positive youth development
Recruit and retain high priority and high need students by driving consistent attendance and engagement
Collect, enter, and analyze student attendance, academic, and behavior data in Salesforce to track progress, identify needs early, and implement individualized interventions
Serve as the primary liaison with families, teachers, guidance counselors, and community partners, ensuring consistent communication and shared expectations
Represent Bronx Lacrosse as an ambassador by modeling professionalism, accountability, and mission alignment in all settings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Prior experience as a lacrosse player or coach (minimum of 5 years)
Growth mindset and desire for feedback
Strong interest in working with underserved youth in the classroom and on the field
A detail-orientation, strong organizational skills, and a desire and ability to collaborate
Strong communication and leadership skills
