GIS & Asset Data Support Technician (Temporary)
Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District is seeking a detail-oriented individual to assist with GIS, asset management, and data quality efforts within the Digital Solutions Group. As a part-time, temporary GIS & Asset Data Support Technician, you will assist staff with data entry, validation, and documentation efforts related to the District's GIS and computerized maintenance management system.
Utilities
Responsibilities
Entering, updating, and validating asset data within the District's GIS and CMMS systems
Reviewing asset records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency across systems
Assisting with cleanup and standardization of asset attributes, naming conventions, and classifications
Supporting data quality checks and basic audits of asset inventories
Assisting with the creation and updating of asset management documentation, SOPs, and data standards
Organizing and maintaining digital records, reference files, and documentation repositories
Following established procedures and checklists to ensure data integrity
Assisting with related GIS, asset management, or data support tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic computer proficiency in a Windows environment
Experience using spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel or similar)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Ability to follow written procedures and document processes
Good written communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks
Experience with data validation, quality control, or documentation
Preferred
College coursework in GIS, engineering, environmental science, information systems, data analytics, or a related field
Familiarity with GIS software or asset management systems (coursework or exposure acceptable)
Interest in GIS, asset management, or public infrastructure systems
