HR/Payroll Specialist
Jobster LLC is seeking an HR/Payroll Specialist to support union payroll processing and HR operations. This role ensures accurate payroll administration, smooth onboarding, and compliance with wage regulations while working cross-functionally with various teams to maintain operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Review weekly time records for accuracy and completeness
Process payroll entries and adjustments using payroll systems
Resolve payroll inquiries, discrepancies, and escalated pay issues
Support weekly payroll processing for a large workforce
Manage final pay processing in compliance with state laws
Administer wage levies, child support, and other payroll deductions
Prepare payroll and compliance reports, including certified payroll
Assist with audits, workers' compensation, and related reporting
Support onboarding of union employees, including I-9 processing
Maintain HRIS data integrity and assist with HR technology processes
Support recruiting efforts and field hiring as needed (travel up to 30%)
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
Experience with payroll systems; Paycom preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
1–3 years of payroll or related experience preferred
Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field is a plus
