Responsibilities
Partner with internal teams and external agencies to understand requirements, support GIS initiatives, and deliver training when needed
Provide exceptional service and maintain high levels of client satisfaction
Develop and maintain geospatial data layers, including data acquisition, conversion, quality control, and metadata creation
Produce advanced cartographic products and visualizations using sophisticated analytical techniques
Perform intermediate to advanced spatial analysis, database queries, and reporting
Contribute to GIS application development by preparing business requirements, designing layouts, defining algorithms, and creating user documentation
Manage and administer spatial datasets and spatial databases
Implement and customize GIS tools, scripts, and utilities to enhance team operations
Mentor and support other GIS professionals in areas of expertise
Lead projects with strong communication, collaboration, and client engagement
Provide guidance to team members and support execution of tasks across lower-level GIS roles when necessary
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Completion of advanced coursework applicable to senior‑level GIS responsibilities, including professional, university extension, or vendor‑led training
Demonstrated success presenting GIS concepts or workflows to internal or external audiences
At least 30 months of experience in a GIS Analyst‑level role or equivalent
Preferred
Experience working with LiDAR point‑cloud datasets, including classification, feature extraction, and GIS integration
Familiarity with cloud-based environments such as AWS AppStream, S3, and managed Postgres services
Proficiency in SQL
Basic knowledge of HTML for web-based GIS applications
Experience with spatial databases such as Oracle Spatial or similar platforms
