Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary finance partner for designated business units, building strong relationships with department leaders and answering business questions through analytical approaches
Deliver monthly financial updates to business leaders, explaining variances and recommending corrective actions
Collaborate with business teams to identify risks and opportunities, influencing decisions with data-driven insights
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency within assigned financial processes, while offering insights into business activities and aiding business teams to take action on insights
Ensure direct report(s) have continued development and build talent/skillsets through coaching, feedback, and ensuring accountability
Lead meetings and provide insight to projection variances versus budget and make recommendations on appropriate course corrections
Develop and evaluate business cases for new projects, investments, and cost-saving opportunities within assigned business areas
Monitor and report on the financial performance of initiatives, including ROI and post-implementation reviews
Support the development of departmental budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with corporate targets
Partner with Operations leadership frequently, providing timely, detailed, and meaningful insights and visibility on business performance
Support process improvements and automation efforts and ensure knowledge transfer within the team
Create ad hoc analyses to address emerging business questions and support executive decision-making
Support designated functions such as Marketing, Real Estate, Pricing and Strategy with additional support provided to other business areas as capacity allows
Responsible for timely creation and delivery of Real Estate Steering and Advisory Committee financial packages for all potential New Restaurant locations
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and targeted analyses aligned with business priorities
Provide financial guidance and decision support for strategic initiatives, programs, and operational improvements
Lead direct report(s) on weekly and monthly deliverables requiring a high level of detail, attention, and effort. The Senior Manager is accountable for the quality and timeliness of their team’s work
Proactively identify and escalate business risks and when additional team training may be required
Represent the Finance team in cross functional meetings as needed
Understand highly complex information with multiple variables while identifying trends or insights and distilling it to be understandable to all stakeholders, so they can focus on decisions and running the business
Champion financial literacy within business units by educating leaders on key metrics and performance drivers
Support business improvement initiatives through data analysis and financial insight. Determines and creates required project deliverables
Promote work-life balance and a positive team environment. Ensure performance conversations and Individual Development Plans are completed and followed for direct report(s)

Required

Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred; CPA/MBA is a plus
Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial analysis or FP&A experience, including people leadership
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to build relationships
Advanced understanding of Accounting and Finance
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Ability to influence through data and build strong relationships
Ability to solve complex problems
Experience building operational and financial models
Demonstrated people leadership and coaching capability
Occasional local travel may be required ~10%

Small/Medium group presentation skills
Chartered Financial Analyst – CFA
Certified Public Accountant – CPA
Masters Business Administration – MBA
A demonstrated relevant 10+ Work Experience in a financial role in the Restaurant Industry that mitigates the lack of a Certification
