Substation Test Technician- NETA 2
Equagen Engineers PC is a nationally certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) providing power delivery engineering, testing, commissioning, and in-house protection and control panel manufacturing services. The NETA Level II Substation Testing Technician supports field testing and commissioning activities for medium- and high-voltage substation equipment under the direction of a Lead Technician or Field Supervisor.

Responsibilities
Perform acceptance, maintenance, and commissioning testing per NETA ATS/MTS
Assist with testing of transformers, breakers, relays, CTs/PTs, switchgear, buswork, and cables
Set up and operate electrical test equipment
Support lead technicians during functional testing and energization
Follow safety procedures per OSHA and NFPA 70E
Record test results and assist with NETA-compliant reports
Qualification
Required
NETA Level II Certification (Required)
3–5 years of substation testing and commissioning experience
Working knowledge of electrical drawings and substation equipment
Experience with Omicron, Megger, Doble, or equivalent test equipment
Ability to travel and work extended hours
Preferred
Utility or EPC substation experience
Exposure to relay testing and protection systems
OSHA 10 certification
Progression toward NETA Level III
