Responsibilities

Diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Avionic Test Equipment
Solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical publications; uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, document maintenance actions, analyzes, diagnosis and repairs Avionic Test Equipment using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools
Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents
Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes
Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment
Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices
This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians
Disassembles and assembles malfunctioning test equipment accessories and components, removes, repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion
Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Avionic Test Equipment, inspects, tests, and operates Test Equipment to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications
Stencils and marks Avionic Test Equipment in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations
Practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times
Completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams
Must conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts
Must read and understand his/her Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities
Must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job

Required

Minimum of five (5) years' experience in I-level avionics maintenance
High School diploma or GED
Navy Class A school for Aviation Electricians or Aviation Electronics Technicians, or USMC/USCG equivalent
Navy Class C school in electrical or electronics repair (5 years' I-level experience may be substituted for the Class 'C' school)
Must be a US Citizen
Must be able to speak, read and understand English
Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC)
Able to read and understand aviation equipment electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. To include component identification and function

Knowledge in the use of Test Equipment
Circuit Card assembly repair experience
