TEEMA GROUP is seeking a detail-driven Payroll Accountant to oversee accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations across multiple entities. The role involves processing payroll, managing reconciliations and audits, and collaborating with HR and Finance to enhance payroll processes.

Responsibilities

Process biweekly payroll accurately and on time using payroll systems
Validate, balance, and audit payroll each cycle to ensure compliance
Prepare payroll-related management reports, reconciliations, and analytics
Perform monthly payroll close, including account reconciliations and accrual reviews
Maintain payroll systems and employee records, including new hires and changes
Partner with HR on onboarding, payroll changes, and benefits administration
Prepare and reconcile benefit deductions including medical, dental, garnishments, FSA, and 403(b)
Manage benefit data uploads with third-party administrators
Prepare COBRA calculations and payroll inputs as required
Serve as a trusted resource for employees regarding pay and time reporting questions
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies with accuracy and discretion
Prepare General Ledger journal entries for payroll, workers’ compensation, and accrued benefits
Compile payroll data for government, city, and contract reporting
Support annual audits and provide documentation to external auditors
Distribute W-2s and other required payroll documentation
Assist with special projects and continuous process improvements

Required

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of payroll and accounting experience
Strong knowledge of payroll administration and compliance
Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems (UltiPro or similar preferred)
Working knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Advanced Excel skills and high data-entry accuracy
Ability to manage deadlines, multiple priorities, and confidential information
