Responsibilities
Research, design, and develop system designs for electronics active safety applications
Developing fundamental, innovative system concepts and conceptualize early prototypes and proof of concept to validate the systems technical feasibility
Developing the system design architecture, including external and internal interfaces
Specifying technical system design, including interface specification and non-functional system attributes
Assigning detailed requirements to sub-designs (software, hardware, mechanical engineering)
Indicating and managing technical risks and opportunities
Validating system design feasibility (e.g. prototyping)
Developing data and interface migration concepts
Managing requirements traceability from SysRS to system components and interfaces
Participating in D-FMEA and FTA sessions to assure their completeness
Supporting the Requirements Engineer and the Project Manager with outsourcing activities, including specification of interfaces to system parts delivered by Suppliers
Supporting the Lead Engineer regarding the root cause analysis activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical/Computer Engineering Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical Engineering degree preferred)
1-3 years of embedded coding experience, emphasis on C, but strong candidates with embedded C++ or embedded Java will be considered
0-3 years' experience applying an engineering process to software development and test (SPICE, CMMI, V model, Waterfall, Agile)
Knowledge of the current/future system and typical JSS embedded systems
Knowledge of architectural principles (patterns) and different software and hardware architectures
Knowledge of standard software and standard hardware
Knowledge of development methods and tools
Capability to analyze and understand complex technical problems and risks
Capability to abstract and simplify
Ability to communicate with all EDP disciplines (software, hardware, mechanical engineering), as well as with the project and line management stakeholders (e.g., Project Manager)
Knowledge of all current and planned system interfaces and components for the respective product
Knowledge of the FMEA and FTA methodology
Knowledge of functional safety standard (ISO 26262) and ability to consider its implications for system designs
