COUNSELOR INTERN

Responsibilities

Observing and assisting with client assessments in real-life settings
Identifying client strengths, needs, and goals
Supporting the development and implementation of case plans
Participating in case staffing and treatment planning
Coordinating services with community partners
Learning professional documentation and report preparation
Assist with home visits, court appearances, and family meetings
Document contacts with parents, collaterals, and professionals
Participate in team meetings, consultations, and group supervision
Review case files, reports, and supporting documentation
Transport youth and parents to appointments
Assist with child abuse and neglect assessments
Connect families with valuable community resources

Qualification

Client assessmentsCase managementBasic computer proficiencyTeam collaborationCommunication skills

Required

Enrolled and in good standing with an accredited university in an approved program
At least 21 years of age
Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
Physical exam including TB screening
Required criminal clearances (State Police, FBI, and State Child Abuse)
Successful completion of background and reference checks
Basic computer proficiency
Availability primarily Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends
