Responsibilities
Ensures inventory accuracy for raw materials under position’s control
Understands shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, miscellaneous shippers and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules
Requires knowledge of domestic and international shipping and use of online shipping methods
Ensures compliance with all DOT regulations
Correctly classify and label hazardous material shipments
Ensures compliance with all import and export government rules and regulations. Submit export paperwork to freight forwarders
Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lays out position of shipment
Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states. Schedules customer funded trucks. Schedules expedited shipments as required
Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded truck doors
Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair
Maintains vehicle maintenance report
Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas
Maintains inventory of all shipping supplies, including boxes, packing material, tape labels and any special supplies
Develops and recommends annual budget requirements for the Warehouse and Receiving Department. Anticipate and request funding for future personnel requirements. Anticipate and request funding for future material handling equipment
Establishes project plans and coordinates activities for continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
This position requires a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training
Must be available for all shifts (including 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekend shift). Must be able to work overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
