Responsibilities

Provide direct exposure to various teams within Business Operations
Gain knowledge of various types of fixed income, equity, derivative and alternative assets
Work alongside one of HIMCO’s Business Operations teams
Participate in performance measurement and attribution, investment reporting, trade operations, data integrity, reconciliation & controls, and valuations
Contribute to a capstone project presentation to HIMCO senior leaders
Participate in a mentoring program, a mock-trading competition, an executive speaker series, volunteering, and social events

Required

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
Highly motivated individuals with a strong record of academic achievement and an interest in financial markets
Desire for operational based processes which include data analytics, reporting and process improvement/automation
Basic knowledge of financial markets
Some related course work (e.g., finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering etc.) and/or student investment or finance club experience
Strong drive, attention to detail, and a self-starter with a high degree of intellectual curiosity who is eager to learn
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including use of technology
Excellent time management, organizational and communications skills
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, & Word) is required

Preferred

Familiarity with coding languages such as Python, SQL, Excel VBA, etc
Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, etc
