Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1 - 00022445
The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is a dynamic state agency responsible for delivering a wide range of services to Georgia's most vulnerable populations. The Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1 will provide investigative and comprehensive case management for cases involving child abuse or neglect, including conducting home evaluations and coordinating services for children in the foster care system.

Responsibilities
Accesses and records client and community resource information
Assists in collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing necessary reports according to rules and regulations, state and federal laws
Assists in identifying placement resources for children within the foster care system
Compiles records and prepares reports; performs follow-up to determine the status of client's case
Conducts home-visit evaluations for information gathering to be used in assessments
Coordinates and monitors children in out-of-home placements and in-home interventions
Learns to perform initial investigations of protective services referrals in determining the appropriateness of protective services intervention
Learns to work in collaboration with legal system to ensure safety and achieve desired outcomes
Maintains required documentation and completes reports
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Applicants must pass the standard agency testing protocol for the position in which they are hired in order to maintain the position
Possession of a valid driver's license, access to a reliable automobile, and proof of automobile insurance for required work-related travel
