Responsibilities
Administer, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases across multiple environments
Manage Always On availability groups, backups, indexing, integrity checks, and security audits
Monitor database performance and system health, proactively identifying and resolving issues
Automate detection of anomalous activity and ensure compliance with enterprise policies
Design and build conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business and analytics requirements
Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture, including data integration, movement, and storage strategies
Reverse-engineer schemas, perform data profiling, and evaluate models for discrepancies and optimization opportunities
Define, document, and enforce data architecture standards and best practices
Create and maintain data flow diagrams and architecture documentation using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or ERWIN
Implement modeling standards (e.g., normalization, star schema, data vault, 3NF)
Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions
Qualification
Required
6+ years of hands-on experience administering SQL Server databases (2012, 2014, 2019, and newer)
3+ years of enterprise-level data modeling and architecture experience
Strong experience creating data flows and architecture diagrams
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PowerShell for scripting and automation
Experience with data modeling tools such as ERWIN or equivalent
Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred
Experience administering and optimizing Snowflake environments
Experience with SQL Server on Azure and managed SQL instances
Background in asset management or similar regulated industries
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices
