Responsibilities
Develop and revise high-quality 2D and 3D drawings for mechanical and piping systems, including P&IDs, equipment layouts, system plans, and isometric drawings
Translate rough sketches, redlines, and verbal instructions from the engineering team into accurate CAD models and construction drawings
Ensure all drawings and designs comply with company, client, and industry standards, including project-specific CAD configurations
Assist in the preparation of technical deliverables such as sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs
Perform quality control checks on drawings prepared by other technicians to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards
Coordinate the filing, storage, and retrieval of all project-related CAD files and documentation
Support the project team by working on multiple projects simultaneously and making drawing edits based on markups from clients and engineers
Assist in researching solutions to design problems and contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting and design standards
Qualification
Required
High school diploma and coursework in drafting technology or a specialized CAD certification are required
At least one year of professional drafting experience
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software is required
Preferred
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Design, or a related field is preferred
Experience in an industrial setting, particularly with oil and gas projects, is a significant plus
Specific experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation is strongly preferred
Familiarity with 3D plant design software such as CADWorx, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Bentley OpenPlant, or Revit is highly desirable
Experience with model review software like Navisworks or Revizto is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDF editing software (Bluebeam, Acrobat)
