Responsibilities
Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with a portion of our experienced developer team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and engagement
Provide constructive feedback and facilitate performance discussions, ensuring alignment with project goals and technical standards
Act as a point of contact for team members, addressing concerns, unblocking issues, and fostering a positive team dynamic
Support onboarding and integration for new team members
Collaborate closely with the Product Management team to clarify requirements, define user stories, and translate product vision into actionable engineering tasks
Work with the engineering team to effectively scope, estimate, and plan development work, ensuring realistic timelines and efficient resource allocation
Facilitate agile ceremonies (e.g., scoping, stand-ups, retrospectives) to maintain team rhythm and continuous improvement
Identify and mitigate technical and project risks, communicating proactively with stakeholders
Oversee the execution and delivery of engineering initiatives, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions across our stack (React, NextJS, Java, Spring Boot on AWS, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes)
Champion engineering best practices, code quality, and technical standards within your team
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the engineering workflow
Work seamlessly with the VP of Engineering, other team leads, and cross-functional teams (Product, QA, etc.) to ensure alignment and cohesive delivery
Help foster a culture of transparent communication and shared responsibility
Qualification
Required
Full professional proficiency in Portuguese and English
5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2+ years in a formal leadership or management role (e.g., Team Lead, Technical Lead, Engineering Manager)
Proven experience managing or mentoring software developers, including a strong understanding of performance management and feedback delivery
Solid technical background with ability to understand and discuss architectural designs and technical challenges within our stack (React, NextJS, Java, Spring Boot, AWS, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes)
Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Product Managers to define requirements, scope projects, and drive successful delivery
Strong understanding of agile development methodologies
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt to changing needs, and thrive in a fast-paced, remote startup environment
Proactive problem-solver with a focus on team empowerment and continuous improvement
Preferred
Experience managing geographically distributed teams or contractors
Prior experience in a startup environment
Familiarity with the renewable energy or EV sectors
