Responsibilities
Serve as the primary field clinical engineering lead supporting a clinical trial for implantable pacemaker and/or defibrillator systems
Provide on-site technical support for live implants, device setup, troubleshooting, and clinical procedures
Support investigator sites to ensure adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and study rule sets
Train and support clinical site staff on device use, study procedures, and risk mitigation
Act as a key liaison between clinical sites and internal teams including Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, and R&D
Identify and resolve clinical issues, deviations, and risks during study execution
Contribute technical input to clinical documentation, site communications, and regulatory materials related to the IDE submission
Travel regularly to support investigator sites and clinical study activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
10–15+ years of experience in field clinical engineering or clinical study support for medical devices
Direct prior experience supporting clinical trials for pacemakers and/or defibrillators is required
Strong understanding of cardiac rhythm management systems and implant procedures
Experience working within FDA-regulated clinical trials, including IDE-related activities
Proven ability to operate independently in clinical environments and influence investigators and site staff
Strong communication skills and comfort supporting high-risk, live implant procedures
Preferred
Experience supporting pivotal or late-stage clinical studies for implantable cardiac devices
Prior involvement in IDE submissions or IDE-enabling clinical programs
