Gibson Electric is an electrical construction firm specializing in commercial electrical and telecommunication infrastructure. The Assistant Project Manager will manage and estimate small electrical construction projects while assisting with larger projects and the general workload of the project management staff.

Responsibilities
Monitor and control contractual requirements of assigned projects ensuring that key field and support staff positions are adequate and perform in accordance with required assignments and deadlines
Monitor and control financial aspects of project contracts including materials purchasing, Change Order initiation and implementation, cost to complete analysis, income and expenses, labor, etc. to ensure projects remain within established budget
Ensure that project materials, equipment, and tools are ordered and delivered timely
Partner with client, architectural, engineering, other departments, and trades to facilitate critical path and project completion
Prepare completely new project estimate packages for small job under supervision of preconstruction or senior project managers
Develop, monitor, and control project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of Company policy
Prepare and present work in progress reports monthly or as required by senior management
Represent company in assigned project meetings
Ensure site personnel comply with all safety plans and programs and work rules as required by company policy and contract
Management of customer accounts as directed
Qualification
Required
Four-year electrical engineering degree or the equivalent combined education and field supervisory experience
Working knowledge of construction contract language required
Working knowledge of electrical design, estimate packages, and implementation required
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical drawings required
Thorough understanding and application of industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities required
Ability to thoroughly understand and apply company policies, procedures, business ethics, and work standards
Superior communications and interpersonal skills required
Knowledge of CONEST estimating software or ability to learn required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required
Ability to work with minimal supervision and perform against accelerated deadlines required
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations
