Manage daily workflow and task assignments within the lab
Report to designated leads while collaborating closely with other staff
Maintain flexible working hours with required office presence
Administer and optimize Linux-based servers supporting lab operations
Implement and monitor backup strategies to ensure data integrity
Configure and maintain virtualization platforms and network infrastructure
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimize downtime
Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides

Responsible for the installation, creation, monitoring, support, maintenance and optimization of databases and Network
Participates in design
Ensures secure database and network access, data integrity and security
Manages performance and capacity
Manage daily workflow and task assignments within the lab
Report to designated leads while collaborating closely with other staff
Maintain flexible working hours with required office presence
Administer and optimize Linux-based servers supporting lab operations
Implement and monitor backup strategies to ensure data integrity
Configure and maintain virtualization platforms and network infrastructure
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimize downtime
Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides
Office-based with flexibility in hours (Need to be in office for all 5 days no remote)
Regular interaction with cross-functional teams
Hands-on engagement with lab hardware and software systems
Transition into a full-time position split between lab responsibilities and Cummins IT support
Lead long-term hardware replacement planning and infrastructure upgrades
Expand responsibilities as the lab grows, ensuring scalability and continuity
Position classified as Network Engineer rather than Network Administrator, reflecting the technical demands and emphasis on Linux expertise
Initial phase will involve a busy setup period
Ongoing responsibilities will be steady but manageable
Potential to evolve into a full-time split role as lab operations expand
Preferred
Need to be strong in Linux
Experience with Hardware will be good to have
