Responsibilities

Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, conduct time studies, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to enhance production flow and efficiency
Gather and analyze production data, track trends, populate KPI dashboards, and support data-driven decision-making to improve quality and performance
Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process flow diagrams, CAD drawings (SolidWorks and AutoCAD), and ensure compliance with TS16949 and other relevant standards
Assist with planning, execution, and follow‑up of engineering projects involving new and existing production lines, equipment upgrades, and process changes
Support evaluation, selection, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and tooling; recognize and resolve tooling-related issues; investigate new machinery and recommend efficient solutions
Support and maintain lean manufacturing activities, including 5S requirements and continuous improvement efforts aligned with the Linamar Production System (LPS)
Collaborate with production planning to set shop priorities, ensure documentation and tooling availability, and assist shop floor personnel with machine setup, equipment operations, and best practices
Participate in quality inspections and audits, assist in corrective actions, and help ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications
Work closely with production, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to achieve manufacturing goals and maintain alignment across departments
Support troubleshooting activities on the production floor by identifying root causes and proposing effective corrective actions
Assist in testing, validating, and implementing new technologies, processes, and methods that improve efficiency, quality, and safety
Help train production staff on equipment, procedures, and process improvements to ensure consistent performance and product quality

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Proficiency in CAD software systems such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, welding, etc
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred

Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) is a plus
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is desirable
