Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, including supervision of staff
Ensure accurate billing, cash application, and vendor invoice processing
Review and resolve customer and vendor account discrepancies
Monitor accounts receivable aging, collections activity, and accounts payable processing timelines
Support credit reviews and customer account setup processes
Prepare and review AR and AP reconciliations
Support month-end close activities, including cutoff procedures, accruals, and account analysis
Assist with bad debt assessments and related journal entries
Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Provide documentation and support for audits and regulatory reviews
Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows, controls, and efficiency
Document accounting procedures and standard operating processes
Support segregation of duties and approval workflows
Develop, monitor, and report on operational KPIs related to AR and AP performance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Four to seven or more years of progressive accounting experience
Experience supporting month-end close processes
Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and accrual accounting principles
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to operate effectively in a changing, transaction-heavy environment
Experience improving accounting processes, controls, and workflows
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred
Prior experience supervising or leading accounting operations
Experience in regulated, manufacturing, or distribution environments
