Responsibilities
Provide front-line and advanced support for equities trading applications, including order management and execution platforms
Support and troubleshoot end-to-end equities order management workflows across trading, middle office, and downstream systems
Monitor, analyze, and resolve application issues in real time, minimizing impact to trading activity
Diagnose and resolve issues related to FIX messaging, market connectivity, and trade flow
Write and maintain SQL queries and scripts to investigate data issues, perform analysis, and support operational needs
Work extensively in Unix/Linux environments to support applications and troubleshoot system-level issues
Manage incident and outage communications clearly and professionally, providing timely updates to stakeholders
Partner closely with traders, developers, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to drive rapid issue resolution
Mentor and support junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices
Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to long-term stability and process improvements
Operate with the highest ethical standards and discretion in a highly confidential trading environment
Qualification
Required
5+ years of application support experience within the financial services industry
Strong understanding of equities trading and order management system (OMS) workflows
Practical, hands-on experience with FIX protocol for equities trading
Proficiency with SQL and experience using scripting languages for investigation and automation
Solid experience working in Unix/Linux environments
Proven ability to manage production incidents and communicate effectively during outages
Demonstrated experience mentoring individuals with varying levels of technical experience
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure
Preferred
Prior experience supporting hedge fund or buy-side trading environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with front-office stakeholders
A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and system stability
