Project Specialist - Distribution Engineering Asset Management Data Steward
Con Edison is a leading energy company in New York, and they are seeking a DE Asset Management Data Steward to operationalize data governance policy and ensure data quality for Distribution Engineering. The role involves collaborating with various teams, developing data standards, and serving as a liaison between business and IT to meet data needs.

Responsibilities
Operationalize data governance (DG) policies, processes, and controls within their domain to promote data quality, transparency, and compliance
Work with Data Governance Office (DGO) to establish data standards in Electric Operations (EO)
Work with Engineering teams to design analytics data products
Collaborate with various teams to evaluate data sources and establish standards for utilization
Partner with leadership to establish sustainable process improvements
Develop and maintain an intranet site for EO containing job aids, data dictionaries and links to data products
Lead evaluation and profiling of data quality, identifying anomalies and discrepancies and working with IT and data owners to develop controls that systematically solve for their resolution and ensure accuracy and quality of data through upstream and downstream pipelines
Create reports for and/or peer check reports created by internal Distribution Engineering and IT partner teams
Lead local/domain-specific data management meetings to discuss issue resolution, prioritization, data security and other DG initiatives
Support cross-functional technology and business communications and collaboration between multiple Con Edison organizations
Act as a key point of contact with IT as it relates to data, translating business needs into technical requirements
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required
Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in IT, data analysis, Finance or Engineering Discipline and 3 years of work experience or Master's Degree in IT, data analysis, Finance or Engineering Discipline and 2 years of work experience
Demonstrated organizational capabilities and successful management of detailed, complex initiatives
Demonstrated agility and flexibility to deal with ambiguity and comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Understanding of basic principles of data architecture
Experience working with relational data bases and data models
Working Knowledge of SQL and building queries
Experience querying, profiling, and analyzing large data sets
Experience developing data standards and definitions
Understanding of the components of the Electric Distribution System
Knowledge of different enterprise work and asset Management systems
Driver's License
Preferred
Experience overseeing IT or Engineering projects
Strong communication, presentation, writing and analytical skills
Experience with Python
