EVS Floor Technician

Responsibilities

Clean specific areas of the hospital per detailed instructions
Remove trash and soiled linen from the area
Cleans and disinfects all floors and equipment
Complete required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements
Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances
Comply with use of proper cleaning chemicals per surface being cleaned. Follow and use manufacturer’s recommendations per cleaning surface
Monitors inventory and notify supervisor of potential shortages before they happen
Stocks closets with necessary supplies to complete duties

Required

Maintains safe and sanitary environment
Operates commercial vacuums, scrubber, carpet extractor, steam cleaner, trash/utility carts, and wall washing systems
Moves furniture such as tables and chairs and does other duties as assigned by an Environmental Services Manager
Responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the hospital, preventing cross infection, minimizing air borne bacteria and ensuring an aseptic environment
Provides daily cleaning of laundry room, and other areas of the Hospital as assigned in accordance with standard cleaning procedures
Employee maintains a courteous, polite, and helpful attitude with staff and visitors
Employee ensures proper storage of supplies and chemicals

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
