Responsibilities
Prepared and entered transactions to originate customer billing and processed account corrections as needed
Processed files to and from handheld devices, verifying accurate transfer of meter data to host systems via electronic meter-reading platforms
Assigned meter reading routes and created schedules for Meter Readers
Scheduled customer appointments to obtain meter readings and created or canceled service orders as appropriate
Scheduled, assigned, and dispatched meter reading orders
Entered change-name and re-read orders, reviewed billing history, and processed billing adjustments when required
Assigned unrouted and new meters to reading routes within CIS; entered district reroutes and created new routes as needed
Provided phone support to Meter Readers and dispatched field activities
Generated and reviewed reports in accordance with established procedures using existing and new systems
Processed meter readings interfacing with the Industrial Billing System and verified successful data transfer
Updated special conditions and meter reading instructions as required
Prepared customer correspondence, including SONR (Shut-Off No Read) notifications and response letters
Operated call-direction telephone systems and maintained departmental electronic and hard-copy records
Performed general clerical duties including data entry, filing, mail distribution, and message handling
Reported irregularities and abnormal conditions in accordance with company procedures and safety rules
Directed and assisted the work of one to two support employees and supported training of new staff
Performed additional related duties as required based on workload and operational needs
