Welding Training Specialist

The Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is a premier institution dedicated to advancing the field of aviation maintenance through exceptional education and training. The Welding Training Specialist is responsible for ensuring students receive quality education through effective instruction and hands-on training, while also assisting in curriculum development and maintaining academic records.

Responsibilities

Teach classes as assigned on a regular, scheduled basis as assigned and create a welcoming environment for students conducive to learning
Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, and scheduling
Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files
Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and lab
Submit attendance, grades, student evaluation and all other required documents/reports per established procedures
Notify Supervisor of any potential issues that may require immediate attention
Actively utilize proven retention techniques approved by the school
Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned by Supervisor and/or campus management, as needed based on outcomes of classroom observations, instructor evaluations, and student-completed surveys
Assist with the department equipment and supplies inventory and submit purchase requests accordingly and as needed
Assist with the maintenance and utilization of equipment used in the program
Attend and/or conduct in-service training, faculty meetings or other mandatory meetings
Alert Supervisor to student absences, especially on first, third and fifth absence occurrences
Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor

Required

American Welding Society (AWS) certification within the first six (6) months of employment
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum three (3) years of hands-on practical, related work experience in welding is required
Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment
Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism
Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting
Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams
Exhibits a positive, team-oriented attitude by remaining flexible and available to work outside of scheduled hours when needed, as directed by the Supervisor
