Responsibilities
Provide financial leadership across the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including detailed variance analysis
Approve FTE requests and discretionary spending based on financial and operational analysis
Meet regularly with department directors to understand operational challenges and provide financial insight and guidance
Support year-end close activities (fiscal year ending August 31), ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Review financial performance, develop reports, and communicate insights to senior leadership
Adapt to evolving processes, new financial controls, and changing organizational structures
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and improve department efficiency
Partner with cross-functional teams to support operational initiatives and ensure financial accountability
Serve as a mentor and resource to finance team members; new hire will also receive mentorship from another hospital for onboarding and long-term success
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Business, or related field
Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, or financial planning
Healthcare experience required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across diverse personalities and foster a positive team dynamic
Receptive to coaching and open to implementing new processes, rather than relying solely on past employer methods
Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and suggest process improvements
Proficiency with Excel; experience with PeopleSoft and/or familiarity with financial planning systems
Preferred
Hospital experience strongly preferred
Strata experience a plus
