Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate monthly and year-end financial statements for properties and construction projects
Reconcile property and project-related accounts, including bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger entries
Post journal entries, process transactions, and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data
Assist with the preparation and distribution of invoices for property-related charges and construction progress payments
Monitor and manage cash flow for properties, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing
Assist in the preparation of project budgets and track costs against budgeted figures to ensure financial goals are met
Assist with property tax filings, sales tax reporting, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Support external auditors with the preparation of documentation for annual audits
Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and other departments to ensure proper accounting for all real estate transactions and construction costs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in property accounting, real estate accounting, or construction accounting
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger management
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Yardi, or similar)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
Experience in homebuilding or residential construction
Familiarity with property management software and construction accounting systems
