Responsibilities
Network Modernization: Lead efforts to replace and stabilize a frail edge network built on Cisco ASRs
Infrastructure Refresh: Spearhead a major infrastructure upgrade from legacy ASR 9606 platforms to the new Cisco 8570-G2, ensuring a seamless transition and improved network performance
Strategic Guidance: Provide expert architectural judgment and strategic guidance to simplify the existing network environment
Collaboration: Work closely with a highly experienced network expert to achieve network stability and modernization goals
BGP Routing: Demonstrate strong experience with BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) routing, supporting an Edge Network (Internet2) environment with a 1.5M-route routing table across a dual data center architecture
Qualification
Required
CCIE-level expertise in Cisco networking, with a proven track record of successful network architecture and engineering
Extensive experience with Cisco ASRs and BGP routing protocols
Ability to guide strategic network improvements in a healthcare setting
Strong consultative and architectural skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with network experts
Willingness and capability to engage in hands-on network engineering tasks
