Responsibilities
Champion a quality-first mindset, ensuring zero defects reach production
Help define and drive enterprise quality standards, processes, and best practices
Implement shift-left testing strategies as platforms and architectures evolve
Participate in product and architecture design reviews to embed quality throughout the SDLC
Provide hands-on mentoring and training to QA engineers on automation frameworks and best practices
Design, build, and maintain robust automated test frameworks across multiple testing layers
Fully integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines in partnership with DevOps teams
Automate API testing, including use of mocks, stubs, and virtual services
Implement and maintain load and performance testing strategies
Support containerized test environments and test data provisioning strategies
Decompose user stories and requirements to determine appropriate automated tests
Collaborate with QA and engineering teams to define test strategies and test plans
Execute and maintain tests across: Unit, Business logic, Contract, Functional, Usability, Performance
Ensure automation coverage aligns with enterprise reliability and scalability goals
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in QA automation engineering with a strong focus on API-based testing
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
Strong programming experience in TypeScript / JavaScript (Python knowledge a plus)
Deep experience with REST API testing
Deep experience with GraphQL testing and schema validation
Experience with AWS services, including CloudWatch, Lambda, DynamoDB
CI/CD and build tools: Git, GitLab, Docker
Load and performance testing tools: LoadRunner, Gatling
API testing tools: Postman, Insomnia
Open-source automation frameworks: Jest
Preferred
Strong SQL skills and relational database knowledge
Front-end automation experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress
Mobile automation experience (Appium preferred)
Experience with Agile frameworks and regression testing
Financial services or consumer banking technology experience
Strong understanding of white-box testing, software engineering best practices, CI/CD, source control, and release management
Familiarity with AI-driven testing concepts, modern AI agents, or emerging QA tooling
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly collaborative and able to work across engineering, QA, and DevOps teams
Curious, analytical, and enthusiastic about breaking software
Strong leadership potential with the ability to influence without authority
Self-driven and adaptable in fast-paced, evolving environments
