Analyst - FINANCING POLICY & COORDINATION
The City of New York is the chief financial agency of the city government, overseeing the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets. The Analyst role involves assisting with debt management, financial planning, and reporting for the City and related debt issuing entities, while maintaining financial databases and preparing budget forecasts.

Responsibilities
Assist with maintenance of and updates to debt databases of the City and its related debt issuing entities listed above
Assist with the financial planning and reporting for the City and its related debt issuing entities. This includes preparation and maintenance of the City’s debt service budget and monthly cashflow forecasting
Maintain investment banking and market databases including bond pricing statistics, variable rate bond performance, secondary market trading information and syndicate underwriting performance
Assist with the organizing and filing of investment banking proposals and bond issuance documents
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, mathematics, or related area of study
Relevant coursework includes: Financial Management, Investments, Options & Futures, Fixed Income Securities, and/or Accounting
Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Access and willingness to learn other financial software packages and programming languages
Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, organizational skills, communication skills, and familiarity with complex financial and legal frameworks
A cover letter is required to be considered for this position
Analyst ($77,327+): Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of full-time experience in budgetary planning/management, financial analysis, public policy analysis, economics, finance, accounting, mathematics or a related field; or an awarded Master's degree in Business, Public Policy Administration, Finance, Economics or a field related to the specific assignment
Senior Analyst ($86,995+): Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of full-time experience in budgetary planning/management, financial analysis, public policy analysis or a related field, or an awarded Master's degree in Business, Public Policy Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field, and one year of relevant experience
Supervising Analyst ($98,302): Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of full-time experience in budgetary planning/management, accounting, financial analysis, public policy analysis or a related field, or an awarded Master's degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field, and two years of relevant experience
You must be a City resident within 90 days of the date of appointment and you must be legally eligible to work in the United States
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
Preferred
Relevant work experience in finance, investments, and/or budgeting is desirable
Knowledge of Bloomberg is a plus
