Responsibilities

Prepare construction documents for plumbing and/or HVAC systems using AutoCAD and Revit
Perform applicable design calculations and system selections
Calculate building loads using EnergyPro or other energy modeling software
Collaborate with the Project Manager to maintain project timelines and deadlines
Coordinate effectively and promptly with all project stakeholders
Serve as the primary client point of contact on select projects
Lead project teams from project kickoff through construction completion
Develop cohesive design solutions within established schedules and project budgets
Build and maintain client relationships through quality service and project delivery
Engage with new clients and participate in industry events to support business development
Act as direct supervisor to assigned design team members
Mentor and train team members

Required

Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC design and project management, with the ability to produce complete, biddable construction document sets
Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain client relationships and act as an ambassador for Design West Engineering
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP
Experience across various project types and market sectors
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing technologies, codes, and tools
Demonstrated passion for mentorship

Preferred

Experience with complex mechanical systems
Experience with data centers, medical facilities, K–12, and municipal projects
Experience in proposal writing and client development
LEED Accredited Professional (preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Licensed Mechanical Engineer in the State of California (Not mandatory)
