Paid Internship Opportunities: Mississippi Farm to School Network

The Mississippi Farm to School Network is offering two paid remote internship opportunities for 2026 focused on youth leadership and local food systems. Interns will gain hands-on experience in community organizing, child nutrition, and program implementation while supporting communities across Mississippi.

Responsibilities

Correspondence with statewide schools and local partners
Contribute innovative ideas and feedback for grant processing
Coordinate with Youth Leadership Cohort members to plan and implement community projects
Assist in developing agendas for Youth Leadership Cohort Monthly Meet & Learn meetings
Conduct surveys with Youth Leadership Cohort members to evaluate the program
Help with planning and execution of in-person events hosted throughout the state and virtual webinars
Assist with outreach and promotional efforts, including social media
Minimum 25-30 Hours/month
Correspondence with statewide childcare programs, ECE providers, and local & national partners
Contribute innovative ideas and feedback for grant processing
Coordinate with Farm to ECE Coalition members to keep track of goals, progress, and outcomes
Coordinate with Mississippi Sprouts and Farm to ECE Institute program participants to monitor challenges and successes
Assist with in-person events such as: trainings for early childcare providers, school garden planting & activity days, family farmers markets, taste tests, and cooking classes
Coordinate with Physical Activity Learning Session (PALS) participants to remind them about upcoming trainings and communications surrounding the program
Help with planning and execution of in person events hosted throughout the state and virtual webinars
Assist with outreach and promotional efforts, including social media

Required

Must live in Mississippi
General understanding of Mississippi's local landscape and challenges facing Mississippians in various food system sectors

Candidates are required to complete a pre-employment background check prior to their official start date
