Quality Engineering Intern
Cleveland-Cliffs is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America. As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will work on various projects that involve safety inspections, managing test labs, and improving operational efficiencies within the steel production process.

Responsibilities
Complete monthly safety inspections and safety observations for the Metallurgical Department
Work safely and assure plant safety policies are followed
Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab
Manage test equipment calibrations
Create new operating efficiencies to maintain the production, testing, and shipping of steel with a leaner workforce
Maintain Steelmaking spectrometer lab, calibration, and on-call support
Responsible for data-mining investigations with metallurgical grade performance, chemistry, scrap charges, etc
Responsible for Metallurgical grade maintenance and development
Manage 3rd party testing inspection
Maintain tracking of Steelmaking scrap, referral, and diversions
Responsible for Metallurgical investigations
Qualification
Required
Enrollment in Bachelor of Science program in the field of Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or other related technical degree
Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2026
Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
