Responsibilities
Review design drawings and calculations conducted by vendors and EPC company for pressure vessels, Tanks and heat exchangers
Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of fixed mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and piping systems. Condensate and LNG Loading arms, ship gangway system, valves, filters, HVAC, flares, restriction orifices fire system equipment (e.g. monitors, deluge etc.), and any related
Review and approve welding procedures, and welding qualifications
Provide support for Commonwealth LNG’s Systems and Processes: Hose management, flange management, pressure equipment repair and fitness for service, welding and NDT, piping stress analysis, piping vibration management (including AIV/FIV)
Provide mechanical engineering support for both day-to-day plant operations and long-term reliability and availability targets, including frontline response for mechanical issues and failures
Drive continuous improvement in fixed mechanical equipment (safety, cost, availability) through:
Maintenance strategy optimization
Root Cause Failure Analysis
Bad actor analysis
Management of Change
Debottlenecking and efficiency optimization
Define and implement QA/QC programs for mechanical equipment maintenance
Review and approve static equipment fabricators inspection and test plans
Provide feedback to quality manger on quality program and quality assurance as related to static equipment
Provide Quality Control over high-risk mechanical equipment maintenance activities
Ensure an MOC process is followed through the implementation of changes on mechanical equipment and packages
Develop and ensure adherence to all discipline specifications, standards, procedures, and guidelines
Participate in the review and approval of engineering designs, modifications, and repair plans
Provide integral interaction and support for other intercompany teams, such as Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Quality, Process Safety Management (PSM), and Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer required
15+ years of experience in Engineering required
Experience in commissioning required
LNG experience overseeing projects with understanding of Cryogenics conditions and limitations required
Knowledge of ASME section VIII and IX codes, NFPA and API standards
Familiarity with FERC and PHMSA requirements on static equipment
Ability to perform multiple tasks and work within project deadlines, and adjust as priorities changes occur
Have the ability to read and interpret engineer drawings to include P&IDs, PFDs, C&Es, One Line Diagrams, Isometrics, and Civil/Structural drawings
Experience with systems completions
Strong understanding of the design and operation of heat exchangers and process piping
Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred
PE preferred
Familiarity with asset integrity programs is preferred
