Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department and ensure appropriate prioritization of work
Evaluate facility equipment and infrastructure to determine maintenance needs and schedule required repairs
Develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance procedures and schedules
Ensure maintenance and repair work is performed safely, accurately, and within expected timeframes
Review project requirements and coordinate the ordering of parts, materials, and supplies needed for scheduled work and potential equipment breakdowns
Support equipment purchasing decisions by evaluating condition, cost, expected lifespan, and the risk of future repairs or downtime
Hire, train, and develop maintenance staff; conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy
Assess maintenance staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage based on workload, planned projects, and operational needs
Lead all health, safety, and environmental programs for the facility, including OSHA compliance, safe work practices, hazard identification, training, inspections, and environmental reporting
Promote and enforce company safety policies and maintain a safe work environment for all employees
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Five years as Maintenance supervisor or comparable leadership role
Preferred
HVAC certification
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification
Extensive knowledge of plumbing, electrical, hydraulic systems, and mechanical troubleshooting
Working knowledge of PLCs and basic programming logic
Strong understanding of OSHA standards including hazardous materials, electrical safety, fall protection, and lockout/tagout requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices, with the ability to lead all facility HSE programs
Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs is a plus
