Speech Language Pathologist (2026-2027 SY)

NEOGOV is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join their team providing educational services throughout Southwest Washington. The role involves providing speech and language services, conducting assessments, and collaborating with educational teams to support students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Inform principals, teachers and other school personnel of speech, language and/or hearing services
Organize and conduct an identification program for communication disorders by utilizing screening criteria, materials, procedures and record-keeping strategies
Select and employ diagnostic procedures and develop guidelines for a comprehensive remediation program
Establish criteria for caseload selection and dismissal
Select and implement therapy strategies for modifying communicative behavior of each student with a speech, language and/or hearing disorder
Maintain a system to record all identification and evaluative data and continuous student performance information
Identify and define factors which determine the effectiveness of therapy. Redefine goals and modify therapy strategies consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or the individual family service plan (IFSP)
Consult with parents, educators and other professionals regarding needs of children/students to assure appropriate learning experiences
Complete all required reports and records for compliance within statutory guidelines
Provide technical assistance to communication technicians and assistants
Other duties as assigned

Required

Hold or eligible to hold a Washington ESA speech language pathologist certificate
Completed all requirements for a master's degree with a major in speech pathology (except special project or thesis)
Experience working with children with articulation and language disabilities
Experience in the identification, assessment, programming and evaluation of children with language disabilities
Successful completion of a criminal history fingerprint check through Washington State Patrol and FBI

Preferred

Master's degree in speech or speech pathology
Experience in P-12 education
Experience working with Washington state and federal laws relating to children with disabilities
