Responsibilities
Responsible for the safe/productive operation and proper maintenance of various types of equipment used in the maintenance, repair, and construction of highways and bridges
Must be able to respond to after-hours, weekend, and emergency callouts when contacted
Willing to participate in DOTD structured training programs
Able to work in extreme weather conditions and harsh environments
Light computer work
Must be capable of sitting, squatting, walking, bending, and climbing to access equipment and various structures
Qualification
Required
No experience or training is required
Must be self-motivated and able to perform duties many times without supervision or with minimal supervision
Must be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise
Must be willing to participate in DOTD structured training programs
Must be able to respond to after-hours, weekend, and emergency callouts when contacted
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and harsh environments
Must be capable of sitting, squatting, walking, bending, and climbing to access equipment and various structures
Must possess either a High School Diploma or GED
Must possess a valid Louisiana driver's license
Preferred
Experience operating or working around heavy equipment & trucks
Possession of a valid Louisiana Class 'A' CDL driver's license
