Responsibilities
Employment/payroll tax research and issue resolution
Interfacing with tax agencies (federal, state, local), including Treasury Offset Program experience
Handling multi‑jurisdictional (multi‑state) tax matters
Supporting tax account reconciliations and ensuring accuracy of filings (Forms 941, 940, and state/local equivalents)
Providing recommendations based on operational insight—not strategic-only consulting
Operating independently with confidentiality, escalating risks with evidence rather than pushing issues back to the manager
Qualification
Required
8+ years in employment/payroll tax for large multi-state organizations
Proven experience communicating with government/tax agencies
Strong ability to work autonomously and interpret operational risk
Preferred
Background in advisory firms (e.g., Deloitte, PNC) or shared services
