Highway Traffic Technician III

The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Transportation Cabinet is seeking a Highway Traffic Technician III to join their District 11 Engineering Support Branch. This role involves the installation and repair of traffic signals, flashing beacons, and roadway lighting, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the transportation system in Kentucky.

Responsibilities

Installs or replaces equipment and materials (using volt-ohm meters, concrete saws and aerial lift trucks) to form a functioning traffic signal, traffic signal system, flashing beacon, school flasher or roadway lighting system
Perform routine inspection beacons, flashers and lighting
Locates and repairs failures in traffic signals, roadway lighting or signal system communication devices as radio modems and hardware interconnect
Oversees operations performed by service contractors and state forces during traffic signal and roadway lighting maintenance and construction projects

Required

High school graduate
Must have five years of experience in electrical or electronic installation or electrical or electronics maintenance work
Must be 18 years of age
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification
Must possess certification in International Municipal Signal Association Level II or Level III training
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification
Required to be able to walk, sit, stoop and bend
Required to be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
