Responsibilities
Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for web, reporting/BI, and systems initiatives
Write clear user stories, functional specifications, and supporting documentation in JIRA and related tools
Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational needs into actionable IT solutions
Coordinate and drive User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and validation
Perform basic SQL queries (SELECT statements, simple joins) to support data validation and reporting accuracy
Support a mix of Agile and waterfall projects, adapting approach based on project scope and complexity
Assist with smaller project management activities, including task coordination, timelines, and stakeholder communication
Develop working knowledge of policy and claims systems to support enhancements and ongoing improvements
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in IT Business Analysis, including requirements scoping, documentation, user stories, and UAT leadership
Experience working in Agile environments, with exposure to hybrid Agile/waterfall delivery models
Hands-on experience with reporting/BI and web-based projects
Working knowledge of SQL Server, with the ability to write basic queries for data validation (not development)
Strong ability to partner with both business and IT teams, translating complex needs into clear, practical solutions
Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at varying technical levels
Preferred
Experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry strongly preferred; candidates with personal lines (P&C or auto) experience will be considered
Backgrounds in underwriting or claims that transitioned into IT/Business Analysis are welcome
